Time for an update, May Version

I suppose it is time for an update 🙂

Things are progressing, I’m in a ‘long stage’ part of the work, getting some of the detail cleaned up, going through my tech learning curve as I continue to learn the capabilities of what is already built, building that gap analysis between what I have and what I need.

The friend I tapped to help with the business management side has been doing some litmus testing out in the field (in Houston, TX) and is getting some tremendous response.

Donation Promotion – Email Account Terms

What2Do.Live will provide a free email address to anyone that gifts $20 or more on the GoFundMe page set up by the founder, found here https://www.gofundme.com/year-1-what2dolive

This will be a 1 GB account, with the address to be customized by the donator, and approved by the Founder.  Access will be available through POP and IMAP, with associated standard security ports and protocols.  Once the address has been established, the donator will be contacted with instructions on how to set up the email account.  What2Do.Live, LLC reserves the right to change these terms without notice.

To claim your email, send the request from the email account you use for GoFundMe to gfm@what2do.live with 3 selections you would like for your email in the order of preference.  When the account is setup, an email will be sent back with instructions and your temporary password.

What2Do.Live is currently hosted with DreamHost (www.dreamhost.com) and falls under their terms of service for email services.  This includes: Terms of Service (https://www.dreamhost.com/legal/terms-of-service/), Acceptable Use Policy (https://www.dreamhost.com/legal/acceptable-use-policy/), and Anti-SPAM policy (https://www.dreamhost.com/legal/anti-spam-policy/).  Any breach in those terms can result in the suspension of your account indefinitely.

Click-Bait Says “What?”

HELP!  Well, that is a little click-bait’ish…but it seems that my idea is starting to gain some steam and I am in desperate need of some people to sit down with and brainstorm, and maybe a little more help than that.  All I can promise is a fun ride for a good cause, and maybe change the world in the process!  We’ll be working with people from RI, CT, MA(hopefully) and yes, the Lone Star State! (if this can bring the red and blue together, we must be onto something!!!)  Just maybe, if I made enough of an impact around me throughout my life, I hope to be able to work with some of my past friends, those who certainly had an impact on my life (and if that happens, I’ll certainly count myself as lucky beyond belief)  I am desperately behind in a couple key areas that is causing me some strife in focus and basically need help in talking through a couple things…community outreach, very specific technical wireframe specs, process flow, just to focus on some things.  If you are interested in chatting, send me a message!

LLC Approved and Established! And…

Great news!  The State of CT has already approved my business filing, What2do.Live, LLC is now incorporated in the state!

With that news, I have an additional announcement!!

While What2do.Live will end up being the larger organization that has operational areas outside the charity and volunteer community, I needed to ensure that the core idea and my calling is represented loud and clear.  To that end, the charity and volunteer aspect of What2do.Live, LLC and the work performed will be referred to as What2do.Live Foundation.  This is in name only at the moment, to help me separate the ideas while I am developing the back end (too much scope creep otherwise) and to relay information to all of you.  Eventually I see What2do.Live Foundation as a wholly financed by the larger What2do.Live entity, but still too early to make any distinction other than to help separate the two ideas.

Any questions, feel free to contact me, jandrews {at} what2do.live

Please visit my GoFundMe page, I’m looking to spend full time to get this off the ground, but I also need to ensure the lights stay on, thank you!

Just changed around the site some

I spent some time working through my last site and had reached a point where I needed to purge and refresh from scratch, redeploying with lessons learned.  I’m still running through cleaning it up so I can provide information on how the project is going.  For now, the backend has been scrubbed to establish the standardized forms.  I’m expecting some funds in the near future to establish the LLC and possibly some design consulting costs.  OK, some more poking around for me, g’nite all!

What went on today at Rick’s…

Today was a semi-productive day at Rick’s.  I was able to finish an entire nachos appetizer myself (yum and ugh all at the same time!) and get some of my forms complete.  I had a little difficulty in figuring out where I could be productive today, starting and trashing several different paths as I realized I didn’t have enough of the pre-req’s done quite yet.  But, that led me to getting some forms finished up, basically the information that I will need to capture from the Charity/Volunteer organizations, which turns out to be, quite a bit of information.

And the work continues…

Good Day to all of you interested in What2Do!

Today I just wanted to post an update on the progress.  I’ve been able to connect with someone that has a small project that should be a compliment to what I am trying to do with What2Do.  We’ll be meeting on the 8th of March at Trinity Brewhouse in Providence, RI to compare notes to see if this is something we can collaborate on.  I’ll also be in Providence another day this week, just not sure when, likely on Friday again at Rick’s Roadhouse.

Welcome to What2do.Live!

Welcome to What2do.Live!

We have some exciting things coming up!  But first, I want to discuss what we are doing first…and that is matching the precious free time professionals have to volunteer opportunities, with no strings attached!  This idea of reversing how we classically think about volunteering was the basis for the larger, What2do ecosystem.  The idea was actually hatched when I was looking for a simple, non-bloated system of managing my household chores.  Then the idea to have a system take those chores and manage them into my free time automatically lead to a whole bunch of ideas, like how it could impact the volunteering community.  Oh, and before I forget, it is a short ‘i’ in Live, as in “Live your life!”

Here’s the problem…
