Welcome to What2do.Live!

We have some exciting things coming up!  But first, I want to discuss what we are doing first…and that is matching the precious free time professionals have to volunteer opportunities, with no strings attached!  This idea of reversing how we classically think about volunteering was the basis for the larger, What2do ecosystem.  The idea was actually hatched when I was looking for a simple, non-bloated system of managing my household chores.  Then the idea to have a system take those chores and manage them into my free time automatically lead to a whole bunch of ideas, like how it could impact the volunteering community.  Oh, and before I forget, it is a short ‘i’ in Live, as in “Live your life!”

Here’s the problem… 

Free time is a commodity that we all have, albeit sometimes it doesn’t really feel like we have very much of it.  Many times, we can’t negotiate when our free time is.  However, there are many, many individuals that would love to donate some of their free time to local volunteer groups and charities.  But, many require a commitment or a timeframe that is not compatible with a person’s free time….what2do… 

The potential solution… 

Reverse how the whole system works.  Instead of a volunteer hunting and pecking for opportunities in their area that happen to align with their free time, or trying to juggle their schedule to work in a volunteer opportunity, let the free time be the driver.  Let the busy individual put in times that they are free, and then display the local groups that would have a compatible opening for that time.

That is basically the idea!  There are a whole bunch more moving parts to consider and being worked through, and we are in the very early stages of getting this up and running, but I am confident in the direction to get this off the ground and looking forward to keep all that are interested up to date through the forthcoming blog on this site.
